Spring Peony and Magnolia Arrangement
I have a love affair with peonies. I just want them in my house year around. I have about 5 peony bushes at my home. Ants are the ones that eat at the peony bushes and that is what makes the flowers open up. Therefore, it never fails when I try and have fresh peony flowers from my garden I also get those pesky ants.
I decided to go with a faux peony arrangement this year. Looked online and everything was so expensive so I decided to make one myself!
Found flowers on Afloral.com and the quality looked good so I decided to give them a try.
Here is my arrangement:
These are the flowers you would need to create this look:
1 | 2 | 3 | 4
I used 3 Lambs ear, 2 of the Magnolia branches and 1 of each peonies bunches.
The vase I got in 2015 from Pottery Barn. You can get a similar one here
• I cut the peonies off their “base” using wire cutters. (I purchased wire cutters at Lowes)
• I use plastic cups to hole my arrangement in vases (that aren’t glass). They will hold you arrangements pretty good and you can adjust the height of your arrangement by adding/subtracting cups!
• I put together the arrangement in my hand first to arrange it
• Cut off extra length that you don’t need
Not feeling the DIY? Here are some that you can purchase
Free Schwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair
FREE?! Well, you can’t pass that deal up. You can get any Schwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair products and there is a mail-in-rebate where you can get up to $7.99 check in the mail.
I put on the hair mask and let it sit while I fed my son and put him to sleep. Then I took a shower and rinsed it out. I used the Schwarzkopf shampoo and conditioner after that. When I went to brush my hair, I had hardly any tangles! Impressed already.
After blowdrying and styling my hair felt smoother and looked less damaged. Overall I loved this product. The only downfall for me is that my hair is so thick it took half the jar to use 1 time! The photo above shows me after using the repair. That is my natural hair; no hair extensions
Pink Peonies Nursery Hack
One of my favorite blogs to follow is Pink Peonies. I just love her style! But let’s face it.. I don’t have the money to spend on the beautiful stuff she has in her house or the clothes she wears!
I fell in love with her little girl’s nursery, especially this I love you sign
So I immediately searched her blog to see where she got it. To my dismay, she got it from SugarBoo & Co- a fabulous store, if you have the money. This sign was $700! I couldn’t believe it.
I put my graphic skills to work and created this myself.
Not too shabby if I say so myself… and for 1/7 of the cost!

Decorating with Travel Maps
Traveling is my husband and I’s FAVORITE thing to do! We just work and save up and then go travel somewhere new. I wanted to incorporate our love for travel with our decor in the bedroom! I created these travel maps from the countries and places that we have traveled. We decided the best idea was to start decorating with travel maps from all the places we have visited!
Then I decided to go with this clips that I got from Urban Outfitters to hang the photos, that way as we travel more places I can change out the photos or just add more! When I got the clips in they were a little larger than I was expecting but they still turned out great!
Here are these clips:
I am really happy with the way that it turned out… let me know what you think!
Feel free to contact me at email@example.com if you would like me to customize a travel map for you! They start at $15 (depending on the size)
Apothecary Jars ideas
When it came to decorating with apothecary jars, I had a hard time trying to find what I should put in them! I searched all over Pinterest but really didn’t find anything that wasn’t holiday related. So I decided to get creative and fill them up with some of my favorite things!
Here are some of the ideas that I came up with.
The bouquet, flowers and lemons all came from Hobby Lobby.
I decided to put another jar inside one of the apothecary jars for a different look. I got the blue vase from West Elm.
The fake artichokes came from Overstock.com.
Let me know what you think!
Master Bedroom Decor
Getting into this married routine can be a little bit challenging. But, I am loving decorating our home and making it ours! Some things since we bought them are no longer available but I have found similar items!
“LOVE Metal Marquee Sign Light” found here on ETSY. I also used this as a decoration in our wedding!
I got the bed frame from West Elm, my favorite shop! Unfortunately, this on is no longer available but here is a similar Nailhead Upholstered Headboard
We went on Black Friday and got a mattress from Sleep Number. People either love or hate their sleep number, WE LOVE OURS!
The duvet cover we got from Pottery Barn is no longer available, but I found this one that is similar from Pottery Barn
Mr. & Mrs. Pillow
Got these Mrs and Mr. Pillow from Hobby Lobby. We also used these in our wedding as decorations! We also used them at our friends wedding as well.
Safavieh Nailhead Tufted ”X” Bench
My mom bought us one of these benches for Christmas and then I got another one to use it in front of the bed! It also works as a great stepping stone for our dog to get up on the bed. These nailhead bench comes from Kohls.
Got the Diamond colorful rug from my Grandma. It is a handmade Navajo Rug. The shaggy sheep rug came from Amazon.
I found an antique wooden fireplace that would stand up by itself. Then I put candles that I got from Target in the fireplace. This fireplace was actually bought to be used as a altar in our wedding but it also fit perfectly in our bedroom!
I got the wood from an old barn that we have. I bleached the wood to kill anything on it. Then stained it black. The legs came from Hairpin Legs online.
Under the side table we have 3 laundry baskets that are for light, darks and towels. These baskets came from Target. And they come with a little chalkboard on the front and you can write “Lights, Darks and Towels” on them so your hubby knows which basket to put his clothes in. FYI: Do not put wet towels in the baskets. They will mildew.
Got this beauty from WestElm.
Canvas Elephant and Giraffe Growth Chart with Bible Verse
I was working on a gender neutral baby room when I designed a growth chart. I decided to get it printed on canvas and hang it with a tree branch!
I didn’t have to go far to find a limb, we have had crazy storms lately and we had tree limbs down all over our yard. I decided to go with a straighter limb to keep the sign level.
Next came how in the world to hang the branch. I decided to take picture hanging wire and wrap it around the bark!
The growth chart starts at 1 foot off the floor. I measured with a tape measure to make sure that it was at the correct height.
I think it turned out pretty good! I decided that I was going to add this growth chart to my store! They are now available here!
Herb Garden Inspiration
Growing up, my Grandma always had this ladder leaning up against her house where the towels went to dry after we went swimming. This is something I will always remember. After my Grandma passed, I decided to use this Kiva Ladder in my own home.
I found these pails at Save-on-crafts.com for only $3.99 or 10 for $35. There was no way for the excess water to escape so I used a drill to drill 2 holes in each of the pails.
Then came the struggle of finding out how to hang the pots on the ladder. I looked for weeks for hooks big enough for the ladder. Then, by mistake, I realized the handles come off the pails and that I could just do that! DUH!
Here is the completed garden:
